It's a political decision, they could "just" raise taxes and reduce government spending. I think the positive effect of a lower interest rate on economic growth would be greater than the negative effect higher taxes would have on growth. So the "just" is that it is unpalatable for the voter.

How are you gonna play Anthropic IPO? Thought I would load up on long dated puts about a week after IPO. That was about the sweet spot at SPCX IPO when price initially surged and also gamma went down a bit. Don't know how much of my portfolio I should put into it though and when to get out.
