Its super important not to talk shit about anybody at the company or the company itself after you put in your two weeks no matter how tempting it is to do so. Not burning bridges is one of the biggest strongest moves one can make. Hell my last day on the job I was literally the last one to leave the office on a Friday and the company never even considered turning off my network access early in the two weeks before I left and I have seen plenty of people get their network access turned off early.

That's what you get for living in California. You did this to yourself. No. I remember when gasoline crossed the $1/gal threshold but the pumps could only handle up to $.99/gal, they set the pumps to display the price for a half gallon (e.g. $.52), and put a nice hand-written sign on the pump informing the customers of the new system. A year or so later all the machines got upgraded with the extra digit for the dollars and could once again display the price per gallon.
